-Blank icons are NOT bases.

Before I post the icons I have to say that I am most proud of the three Friedrichs and the two Arthur Rackhams. The Friedrich icons because I discovered this wonderful painting yesterday and have just been enthralled with it ever since. I not only made the icons and the FO banners, but also a banner for this community's profile page. The Rackham icons I'm proud of because I very carefully colorized the original illustrations (the second one was particularly tricky), and think they turned out quite nicely. Look for an all Rackham entry from me sometime in the future.

Now that we got that out of the way:

Monastery Graveyard in the Snow - Caspar David Friedrich

01. 02. 03.

The Spring - Franz Xaver Winterhalter

04. 05. 06.

Baseball Players Practicing - Thomas Eakins

07. 08.

Perseus and the Sea Nymphs - Edward Burne-Jones

Venus and Anchises - Sir William Blake Richmond

(Obviously, it's just Venus in the icon. ;) )

Ophelia - Jules Joseph Lefebvre

11. 12.

Fairies Dancing (Two different illustrations) - Arthur Rackham

13. 14.

Freinds Only Banners featuring Friedrich's 'Monastery Graveyard in the Snow"

Ok, I'm considering going Friends Only just to use these banners (I took them, obviously, as well as all the Graveyard icons). ;P I adore this painter. Do you have, by any chance, some headers with his paintings?

Thank you for these wonderful icons. I think you have an excellent eye, and I really appreciate the way you have enhanced by not overwhelmed the foundation images. I went through your journal and took several icons from each of the posts featuring 19th century artists. Rather than bombard you with comments, I will just list them chronologically. I always give credit when used. Once again, thank you.

From 5/18/08 I took #1, 7, 15, 20 and 21. From 7/13/08 I took the two Hughes icons. From 9/20/08 I took #4, 9, 11, 12 and 13. From 1/19/09 I took #2, 5 and 11.
